Satoru meets the Rainbow Dragon

“Wait,” Suguru stopped in his tracks, holding Satoru by an arm. “I have an idea.”

He reached out with his hand as if to grasp something, channeling the cursed energy and allowing it to flow through him. The familiar tingling and the low rumbling of curses grew every second until something slowly spawned from behind him.

Satoru shifted on his feet, his eyes alert at the sign of danger. “Huh? What are you doing?”

He jumped back, glasses sliding down to the tip of his nose, eyes open wide as plates the moment the curse began to take shape before them. The iridescent scales of the Rainbow Dragon shimmering in the dim light of the night as it flew past them.

“We’ll go faster if we ride on its back,” Suguru explained as the large curse now gently curled its tail around him.

Satoru gasped, letting out a loud chuckle in awe. “Ok… that’s– pretty fucking cool.”

“Right?” Suguru smiled proudly. He realized then, this was the first time Satoru had seen him summon a curse.

Satoru went around them with cautious yet eager steps, his inquisitive blue eyes fixed on the dragon the whole time, fascination and weariness written all over them.

“It’s alright,” Suguru assured him, petting the dragon’s head to demonstrate its docile nature. Satoru let out a soft gasp, mouth slightly open as he seemed to hold back an enthusiastic comment.

“Would you like to touch it?” Suguru offered.

“Can I?” Satoru’s face brightened for an instant before he pushed his shades back into place and cleared his throat. Suguru couldn't help but giggle at this. That strange duality in him, where sometimes he had no clue what was going through his mind, while others it was too easy to read his face. There was a certain child-like honesty and wonder in Satoru’s eyes that no shades could hide.

Seeing the enthusiasm in him, there was no way Suguru could deny him. Suguru called for the dragon to lower down with its stomach on the ground. It emitted a low growl when it did.

Satoru tentatively reached out, his fingers brushing against the dragon’s scales, timidly at first, then more confidently. “It’s warm,” he said, his voice filled with a mix of awe and disbelief. “And it feels… alive.”

“Strange, huh?” Suguru said as he petted the dragon himself as well. “To think it’s a curse.”

“I gotta say…” Satoru’s eyes sparkled up at him from over his shades. “You’ve got quite the talent… for ‘the biggest weirdo of the normie world’ , I mean.”

“Yeah, it’s one of my best summons.” Suguru watched Satoru’s reaction with a mix of amusement and pride.

“How many more do you have?” Satoru said excitedly as he peeked behind Suguru’s shoulder. “Can I see them?”

“Some other time. Let’s focus on our mission for now. You said it yourself.”

With a swift movement, Suguru climbed the dragon’s paw to settle on its shoulder. He reached for Satoru and offered his hand for him to climb, which he did with delight. Satoru settled behind him on his knees, his hands tight on Suguru’s shoulders.

“Ah, man, this may be the best moment of my life,” Satoru said in a playful voice as he shook Suguru violently.

Suguru grinned, a surge of relief and excitement running through his veins. “Hold on tight.”

The dragon let out another low growl, its claws scratching the stone path as it readied to take flight. Satoru’s hands squeezed harder on his shoulders and the dragon kicked the ground to lift them into the night sky, the cool wind blowing against their faces as they ascended.

He could hear Satoru cheer behind him as the dragon soared through the skies and dipped down abruptly, making Suguru’s stomach drop. Even after all that time, he still could never get too used to the feeling.

“Satoru, it’s not a roller coaster,” Suguru sighed, yet laughed regardless.

But their laughter and cheering did not linger, as they now could see the place where that loud rumbling came from.

The Vision

There was some kind of apparition at the Low Orbit that night. 

At least, that was the only way she could justify to herself how she’d never seen the figure on the tall barstool, one leg hooked over the other in such a way it bared the length of their thigh through the slit in their skirt. That was not a sight she would have just forgotten, of that she was pretty damn sure; she hadn’t been able to stop looking back to the halo of curling white that caught the light in a near-glow, the glimmering sparkle dancing over tan skin. Body glitter, maybe? Something like that, at least. 

They almost didn’t look real in the dim lighting, long fingers curled dainty around the stem of a cocktail glass. Absentminded swirling of something pink-and-yellow, probably fruity, the taste probably coated over their tongue by now. Gently glinting golden eyes watched empty space over the rim, absolutely some kind of prosthetic but, Ra below were they pretty ones. You could say that about all their prosthetics, actually. She’d never seen porcelain-like plating like that, spiraling blue vines over pristine white; not so close at least. Maybe once or twice on the infonet boards, usually on the arm or leg of some model type from the big corps. 

Hell she wouldn’t be surprised if the apparition had walked right on out of one of those boards to take up their seat and get a drink. Or- maybe she was just one too many in. She’d been downing liquid courage for the last hour or so, trying to pluck up the nerve to approach the figure before reality kicked back in, and they’d be gone like a dream in the morning. Not like her bastard friends were much help, gentle elbows to the ribs and cheeky smiles. Would rather snicker into their glasses at her feeling a deer in headlights watching the dazzling light, than hype her up. One such jerk piped up as she drained the last of her glass, smile tugged too far in one direction-

“Look if you’re going to be a baby about chatting up a femme just because they’ve got their legs out, I’ll go talk to them for you. Lord knows, I’ve probably got a better shot anyway-” It was a joke, always was with her, but her smart mouth won her nothing but an irritable huff and a paper coaster flicked into her face.

“Oh piss off, Nel, it’s hardly just their legs. You have eyes, use them.”  

“Yeah? And you have legs of your own, for walking. Hop to, pilot.” Given in the cadence of an order, smirk only getting wider at how her friend sputtered; grasping for a good retort, finding none.

Fuckssake, she was a dickhead- but she was a motivational one at least. Mustering her courage, she set the empty glass down with a petty little groan before getting to her feet , and turning to face them.

Heavy-lidded, luminous golden eyes were watching her from the bar. Despite the drink she’d knocked back mere moments ago, suddenly her throat felt dry enough to click when she swallowed. Something fluttered in her gut. 

Well, no better time than now.

Small mercies the stool next to them was empty. Taking a steadying breath she crossed the gap, sliding into the open seat, keenly aware all the while of their eyes on her; god those things caught the light in a mesmerising way, shifting glimmers and iridescence under the soft lighting. 

…shit, right yeah that was why she’d been stalling. Every conversation starter she’d ever used had flown straight out of her head, and looking them up and down was not helping the matter. This close it was obvious, whatever was making them sparkle like that? Not glitter- some kind of bodymod maybe? It certainly drew the eye down their tall figure, the bodysuit like a second skin, all pearl whites and porcelain blues. 

Oh Ra they were still just looking at her, probably waiting for her to say something, shit, uh-

“I don’t think I’ve seen you around here before.” Ah fucking hell. Well, even the most worn-out threadbare line in the book was something, and despite the internal wince that shot through her at what’d come out of her mouth, they didn’t seem to mind too much. Lips curving in amusement, head tilting just slightly with what she was hoping she’d read correctly as a kind of interest. 

“I come and go.” This was the first she’d heard them speak all night, breath catching in her throat; low and soft, a gentle accent she couldn’t quite place but she knew she liked the sound of. Their glass raised to their lips again, but their eyes didn’t leave her. Hadn’t left her, since she’d approached them. “It’s possible that we’ve crossed paths before, some time beyond recall. It’s a large ship. Lots of people, every day.”

Breathe in, idiot- her tongue whet her lip as she met their suggestion with a laugh, warmth rising to her cheeks. Ra, she hoped she wasn’t blushing too badly. Wasn’t bloody fair, pretty face, pretty voice, how tall would they be if they stood up? Far taller than she was, that much at least she could just tell. They cut an awful striking figure, was the long and short of it. 

“I think I’d remember meeting someone lookin’ like yourself.”

It came out breathier than she intended, a fact that only stoked the heat across her face but- well, they didn’t seem to mind, not from the way their lips twitched and spread into smiling satisfaction, setting their drink down on the bar. Her breath stuttered as they leant in by a fraction, a metal and plate palm coming to rest on her thigh as their weight shifted toward her, fingers curled over the curve of her leg. 

“Now, what do you mean by that darling?” she could have sworn she could hear her pulse in her ears, gaze caught in a snare by those glimmering golden eyes that’d fixed on her face. A curling lock of white hair had fallen from over their shoulder, and she wanted quite badly to reach out and wind her fingers through it but- no, no would that be too forward? She did put her own hand gingerly over theirs, though, fingers trailing up their mechanical wrist, trying not to think about how she could feel the joints twist at their every move (was she into that? Maye she was into that.)

“Well-” this was going shockingly well all things considered, and she was trying so very hard not to jinx it now. “Not to put too fine a point on it, you’re… um. Gorgeous.” 

Blunt maybe, but hey- true. A quiet, purring laugh bled from their lips. 

“Really.” It wasn’t a question, so much as an invitation to continue. She offered a smile of her own, her confidence gathering just a smidge as their other hand (this one flesh, warm) rose to brush some hair away from her face, fingertips lingering against her heated cheeks.

“Course. You’ve got real pretty hair, think I’d remember that alone. Not to mention the rest of you…” Their touch was trailing down, over the rise of her cheek, a single finger dragged across the line of her jaw. She could see how their eyes fixed on the rise of her throat as she swallowed, heart fluttering. “I couldn’t look away, soon as I saw you. I’m pretty damn sure I couldn’t forget a face like yours.” 

It took an awful pretty set of eyes to make self-satisfaction look quite that good. Slowly their touch ghosted from her jaw, to the corner of her mouth, a shuddering gasp parting her lips as their fingers settled gentle against the lower. Trying to think in straight lines was fast becoming a futile effort, her eyes dragged down to watch their tongue drag itself slow over their lip. 

“You’re sweet.” The words, the tone of them alone, were enough to send a flash of heat down through her chest, quicken her heart, stop her breath flat. Oh, she might be out of her depth- but, who needed to breath? Who knows. Drowning could be fun. She could believe that, looking at those hungry eyes. 

There were two fingers lingering against her lower lip, gently pressing into the soft flesh, teasing, testing. Almost on instinct, she obeyed the silent request; her mouth opened, with a fluttering whine she was praying nobody could hear over the hubbub of the bar. That self-satisfaction in those golden eyes sparked and grew teeth and she could have sworn a low purr started to rumble in their chest. 

The taste of salt and something fruity ghosted over her tongue as they took the invitation offered, their fingers gliding over her lips, teeth; the world narrowed sharply, to the taste of them, their arm on her thigh, and the way their flat golden eyes were fixed on her like a cat with trapped prey. 

Yeah, maybe drowning wasn’t so bad actually. 

They took their sweet time, exploring what they couldn’t fully see, fingertips finding the divots of her teeth, the flat crowns of her molars; their smile cracked open to show their own teeth, as a breathless whine bled of her. Inhibitions started to slip, her tongue pressing up into their touch, reaching for that tempting lock of hair and twisting their fingers through it- soft. Like she’d thought. 

A low, indulgent laugh drew her eyes back to their face, back to the way they were looking at her. For a brief moment, their fingers pressed back and back over her tongue, a shiver through her spine as they brushed against her tonsils before slowly, slowly dragging those fingers back- lingering for a long, drawn out moment against her lips, before leaving them entirely with a satisfied hum. 

“That’s a pretty look on you.” 

Ra below, their voice was magnetic; even over the chatter of the bar she could hear it, soft and sweet and heated as they brushed against her cheekbone, tucked a lock of hair behind her ear with a lingering touch. Speaking was maybe a little beyond her at that moment, but it felt wrong somehow not to answer in some kind of way- acting on a whim, she raised the lock of hair twisting over her fingers to her lips, with a kind of breathless reverence. 

Maybe if she tried hard enough, she could memorise the way their lips curled at the gesture. 

“I’ll remember your face, the next time our paths cross.” Their hand trailed down her throat, over her chest- and then in a fluid motion, they rose to their feet. 

And then with a flutter of white hair, they were gone. 

For the first time in a long few minutes, she remembered to breathe in enough to properly fill her lungs, shaking hand rising to her jaw and flexing it, gently.  … Fucking Hell.

Probably the commissioned art piece my brother got me for my birthday this year! It's me as Aerith from Final Fantasy Vii. She's one of my all-time favorite characters, so it was really nice of him to commission for me. I would post it here, but considering it has my face on it, I'm not quite ready for a face reveal yet 😅

I answered my clothing aesthetic in the previous ask! I'll go over my more general aesthetic here.

I like a lot of cutesy and floral stuff! So, lots of pink and flowers around my room/living area. My desk has a lot of pink on it; a fun desk mat with strawberries, lots of cute figures like My Melody and Emma, and little cherry blossom coasters.

I forgot to mention in the other ask, but I usually match my nails to the season, but in general, I love holo/glittery/sparkly looks.

Overall, anything that sparkles, or is iridescent and holographic I will gravitate toward!

‘Slop It On!’: Unicorn Spit Beguiles the Etsy Crowd

BONNER SPRINGS, Kan. — “There’s no such thing as perfect,” said Michelle Nicole, wearing a light-up unicorn headband and standing behind a white table with rainbow-colored balloons arching above her. On a balmy morning not long ago, in an art studio about 10 minutes outside Kansas City, 120 attendees from as far away as Canada were gathered. They had each snagged a ticket to the second annual Unicorn Spit Extravaganza.

An enthusiastic group stationed at long tables, many wearing matching unicorn headbands and colorful T-shirts, they followed along as Ms. Nicole painted wide stripes on a wooden wine holder and encouraged them to “Slop it on!”

Ms. Nicole, 39, is the founder of Unicorn Spit, a nontoxic paint, glaze and stain she created in 2012 while working at an adult day care center. As the activities coordinator, she struggled to find ways to entertain the clients.

When she brought a scuffed-up dresser to work, she and the clients brainstormed ways to finish the piece without using harsh chemicals. After experimenting with various nontoxic dyes and stains in her garage, Ms. Nicole developed the product she has been selling for about $9 to $20 per bottle since 2015.

Unicorn Spitters are part of a recent vogue for the tentatively creative expressing themselves through attempts at art. The spirited group at the event (mostly women, though a few men attended with their wives) was a small sampling of Ms. Nicole’s rapidly growing online community of over 33,000 “Spitters.”

While brushing on color, the Spitters joked, shared pictures of their projects and made plans for the evening. It was a weekend workshop with a set number of projects to complete each day, but also an opportunity for artists, hobbyists and crafting newbies who have interacted online to meet in person.

It was also a chance for them to interact with Ms. Nicole. They were curious about whether she is as upbeat in person as she is in her videos (she is), they wanted to know if she is working on new products (always) and if they can make suggestions (they can).

“My audience inspires me,” Ms. Nicole said. “They comment, ‘Wouldn’t this be neat?’ and I try it.”

Garianne Fuentes, the owner of SW Craft Connection, an art studio in Albuquerque, discovered Unicorn Spit through Ms. Nicole’s videos on Facebook and YouTube.

“The product opened up my creative side,” said Ms. Fuentes, who is 49. “The colors are fun and vibrant, especially the sparkling and flats.” Her projects include coasters, jewelry, metal yard art and faux stained glass.

Ms. Nicole’s videos draw thousands of views, but word-of-mouth continues to drive sales and attract more Spitters. Evey Alvarez-Flores, 36, from Califon, N.J., features product reviews on her blog, Evey’s Creations. She learned about Unicorn Spit a few years ago through a reader.

“I kept seeing the videos and pictures of her doing brilliant things with furniture,” Ms. Alvarez-Flores said. “I did a few sample boards and was blown away by it.” She sells items from her Etsy shop including wooden signs, glass and metal pieces, and uses the product during Make It and Take It workshops she teaches around the country.

Ms. Nicole’s showroom (her studio is in the back), in Kansas City, is a homage to her love of color. “Color gives me an optimistic view, she said: “When I see vivid colors, I think of life.” Entering the multihued interior after approaching the plain brick exterior, one feels like Dorothy entering the Land of Oz.

A range of colors filled every corner of the space. A wedding dress — the product also works on fabric — with cascading rows of yellow, pink and blue, hung on a dress form. Leaning against the wall was a long, narrow window painted to resemble stained glass.

Lampshades, glass end tables, buffets, chairs and iridescent cowboy boots, all with a 3-D effect, are among the flea market and roadside finds Ms. Nicole has rehabilitated.

Unicorn Spit is not only infused with color, but also with aromas. “They are all scented with something special to make clients feel creative,” Ms. Nicole said. Sparkling is infused with lemongrass, purportedly to make people feel energized and fearless.

The metallics are scented with teakwood and pheromones with the idea that these will make people feel adventurous, daring, confident and empowered. The Original Spit is infused with jasmine, to promote a calming feeling.

Mindful that the original inspiration for her product was art therapy, Ms. Nicole often donates her products to nursing homes, disability centers and activity centers. “They can all do art without the fear of making a mess and ruining a project,” she said. “It’s O.K., they can wipe it away and do it again.”

Her latest project involves looking for different handles to enable users to hold the brush with their shoulder, elbow, wrist, palm or even their toes.

Ms. Nicole and her staff of five are currently working on next year’s event. Their first task is to find a bigger site. She is also searching for a Studio & Spit Retreat House where guests would stay for a week and work with her to refinish furniture they find at a local thrift shop.

In a recent post, she updated her followers about a potential property: “It’s awfully cute & simple,” she wrote. “Just needs a bright & cheery paint job.”

The Ultimate Guide for Holiday Gift Ideas!

Hi! It’s Tuesday and Team Fit Foodie is back together again today after over a week of being apart. I had such a fantastic holiday with my family and then Mark’s, but there’s nothing better than getting back into the routine of life at home. Now that Thanksgiving is over, we’re jumping full force into Christmas like it’s no one’s business. Let’s face it, it will be here before we know it.

I was surprised to see so many online deals this past weekend for Black Friday since deals are notoriously found in-stores on the big BF. I did a big order at Anthro because the entire store was 30% off. I’ve been obsessed with their all-natural wellness and beauty products lately! I also restocked on some undies from Aerie. It was 10 for $35, after all.

We’ve been working hard at Fit Foodie HQ over the past few weeks, putting together the ultimate guide for gift ideas. Can I just say that looking at all of these beautiful gifts makes me want to BUY EVERYTHING? Not for me though, for all my people. I’m the weirdo that loves buying gifts for people. Stained Glass Mosaic Coasters Unisex Decor Red Black Silver Gray Home Decor

This set of 4 coasters feature brightly colored Stained Glass, Mirror Glass Tile and Textured Glass. The center glass tile is a Silver Mirror tile with 4 additional Crinkled Mirror tiles. The colors included are iridescent Black, Mirror Glass Red, Black, White,Silver Gray Glass tiles and 2 types of hand cut Red Stained glass. The grout is Haystack (Tan).
